Ammattiosaston asioita ja omaisuutta hoitaa sen hallituksena 1 tai 2 kalenterivuodeksi kerrallaan valittu johtokunta. Johtokunnan toimikausi alkaa syyskokousta seuraavan kalenterivuoden alusta. Johtokunta valitaan loka-joulukuussa pidettävässä ammattiosaston syyskokouksessa. Jokaisella osaston jäsenillä on mahdollisuus asettua itse ehdolle johtokunnan jäseneksi. 

Johtokuntaan valitaan puheenjohtaja, varapuheenjohtaja ja sihteeri. Näiden lisäksi johtokuntaan valitaan vähintään kaksi (2) ja enintään kymmenen (10) varsinaista sekä yhtä monta henkilökohtaista varajäsentä tai vähintään kaksi (2) yleisvarajäsentä. 

Johtokunta valitsee taloudenhoitajan ja muut tarvittavat toimihenkilöt sekä mahdollisten jaostojen jäsenet. 

Johtokunnan tehtävänä on 

  1. johtaa osaston toimintaa, taloutta ja hallintoa 
  2. valmistella osaston kokouksessa käsiteltävät asiat ja kutsua kokous koolle 
  3. huolehtia osaston kokousten päätösten toteutumisesta 
  4. laatia osaston toiminta- ja tilikertomus 
  5. laatia ehdotukset osaston toimintasuunnitelmaksi ja talousarvioksi 
  6. hyväksyä ja erottaa jäsenet 
  7. ottaa ja erottaa osaston palkalliset työntekijät 

Toimihenkilöitä saa olla ammattiosastoissa yksi kappale, lukuun ottamatta jäsenvastaavia, joita voi olla kolme kappaletta.

BRANCH BOARD

The board manages the local branch’s operations. It can be elected for 1-2 calendar year at a time. The board elections take place in the local branch’s autumn meeting, which is organised in October–December. The term of the newly elected committee starts at the beginning of the next calendar year from the autumn meeting.  Any member of a local branch can nominate themselves for the committee election.

Members will elect a chairman, deputy chairman and secretary. In addition, at least two (2) and no more than ten (10) full members and an equal number of personal deputies or at least two general deputies shall be elected.

They  board is responsible for: 

  1. deciding how money is spent 
  2. deciding what kinds of events will be organised 
  3. deciding what kinds of membership benefits and services are offered to members 
  4. ensuring that proper terms of employment are followed in the workplace 
  5. contacting new members and informing them about the membership, benefits and activities 
  6. arranging a union representative for the workplace if the workplace does not have one 
  7. arranging training for new union representatives and supporting them in their tasks

One person can be chosen for each position, with exception for membership officers, of which there can be up to three.
